這是首古老的美國傳統聖詩，可能源自於黑奴時期的黑人靈歌。
這類聖詩的歌詞與旋律都非常質樸，
但是，常常能撼動人心深處。
這首能廣為人知，主要是因為美國當代福音女歌手Alison Krauss唱紅所致。
這首聖詩採取的是無伴奏模式，
單純使用人聲，
這樣最能達成那種感動人的氣氛。

採取無伴奏，或是很簡單的伴奏，
用最原始的人聲，來唱出信仰之聲）

這首歌真的很美,第一次聽時,唱到 Oh sinner let’s go down,覺得就是在對我說話,自覺雖然不配,但仍然能來到至聖者前.我也很喜歡Gaither Vocal Band的版本. 後來在他們的曲單裡也發現 The Ninety and Nine 這首歌…非常動容!
不是高舉雙手拚命地跟上帝呼喊、跟上帝要，
而是沉下去，再沉下去……
